Smiles and Kisses for All

Well as previously mentioned went to California this weekend. Didn’t do much but what we did was fun.

We arrived late Friday night as usual. Lexi woke up just as we started pulling up to Grandma’s house. She was so excited to see Grandma. While I was carrying her in she starting waving her arms like she usually does when she gets all excited at just the sight of Grandma. As I approached her, Grandma, Lexi started reaching out to have Grandma pick her up. It was so cute. A short time later Grandpa came out and she immediately wanted to jump into his arms. It was a sight to see. She just loves getting to see the two of them every other weekend.

Saturday woke up relatively early for a weekend. I guess going to bed late the night before didn’t faze Lexi at all as she was up at around 7:00. So I picked her up and put her in bed with me and we played around a little until Grandpa was up and moving about. We hung around the house pretty much the entire day.

Then it was decided that we were going to go to a pumpkin patch that was open down the way. We packed up and headed over to this patch/stand. For what it is worth it was pretty nice. I mean they could easily just have a pile of pumpkins lying around. They actually took the time to bring out bales of hay, a couple amusement rides, a bounce station, inflatable slide and some wagons to help with your shopping. The four of us just meandered around looking at all the pumpkins while I took as many pictures as I could.

Grandma then decided that it would be a good idea to let Lexi jump in the jump station they had available. After purchasing our tickets we threw Lexi in. She wasn’t exactly thrilled at the idea of being in this big box all by herself. Of all people Grandma climbed in with her so she didn’t feel alone. They played in there for easily 15 or more minutes, all the while I was able to get some great pictures of them laughing, smiling and being just plain silly.

After the bouncing and jumping we needed to get a pumpkin. I mean who are we to take all these great pictures and not leave with a pumpkin? We grabbed two Lexi sized pumpkins and left.

We proceeded to go eat dinner at Applebee’s. It is so nice to go out to eat and let Lexi do whatever she wants. When we go we always ask to be seated in the patio area. This way Lexi can run around with out affecting anyone else. Make for a less stressful evening. Once done with dinner we headed home for the night.

The next day was a lazy day if I have every seen one. The sun never really came out the entire day and I think that didn’t help matters any. It was just overcast enough that you never wanted to get up and get your day started. I know that I didn’t get dressed until nearly 5:00 in the evening. At one point I think that everyone in the house was taking a nap. It was really quite nice to have a day where you have absolutely no responsibilities that need tending to.

Another good part of the day was that Uncle Nick came over. It was good to see him as Lexi warmed up to him nicely in a short amount of time. This gave me the opportunity to take some good pictures of Nick and Lexi hanging out in the back yard taking a look over her bike.

After Nick left it was time for us to go out to dinner again. This time we decided on Coco’s down the street. We all ate and had a good time. Lexi was again just perfect. I love it when she is so good.

Once finished with dinner we headed for home. When we got there I proceeded to start packing the car for the drive home. It didn’t take that long as I had already gathered nearly everything before we left for dinner. We left the house at around 9:00 in the evening. We arrived home, after stopping to get gas for the remainder of the week, at 12:30 in the morning. For sure though it was a great weekend!
