A Little Reading and a Little Love

On Monday after work I had some shopping to do for the rest of the week. I started by heading to the house and removing Lexi’s stroller from the trunk in order to fit groceries in it later. Next I went to daycare and picked up Lexi and we were off to the races.

We started by going to Toys ‘R’ Us. I went by there to see if I could find her something for her birthday. I was looking for the new Tickle Me Elmo that they just recently came out with. Of course they were all sold out. Before anyone goes out and buys her one I want to just look at one. I don’t want to get her one if the thing is just a hard plastic box with fur around it. I would rather the money be spent on a good stuffed animal instead. I actually saw the perfect thing for her. They had a stuffed Blue from Blue’s Clues. She loved it as it was nearly as big as she is.

Having found nothing at the toy store I left and headed to Babies ‘R’ Us. These two stores are within 2-3 blocks of each other. Oddly enough the Toys ‘R’ Us still has a Babies ‘R’ Us section inside. Well we went over there because I had to get some more diapers and sippy cups. I just can’t seem to keep a track of those little buggers. While I was there I took a peak inside the book named ‘What to expect the toddler years’. I looked at a couple things that I was running into with Lexi and the advice given helped somewhat.

We departed and set course for Lowe’s. I was in desperate need for replacement charcoal filters for the air filters in the house. While cleaning over the weekend I had removed one of the charcoal pre-filters from the living room machine and it was completely white from all the dust and stuff in the air. I cleaned it the best I could just to get it to last until later in the week when I could get a permanent replacement. So going through Lowe’s I mentioned to Lexi, ‘If you are a good girl and stay seated I will get you French fries and chicken nuggets for dinner.’ This is one of the things that I picked up in the book at Babies ‘R’ Us. Make deals with kids to help with their behavior.

Having purchased our filters I headed off to Wal-Mart to get all the grocery shopping done. Lexi was great the entire time. Once finished we went to Wendy’s and I got her french fries and chicken nuggets. She just enjoys French fries so much. They don’t even have to be fried. She enjoys the baked ones as well.

So here we are today and I took these three pictures. The one above is another candid photo. I was in the kitchen making dinner when I looked in on her I saw this. I carefully grabbed the camera and snapped this picture before she knew what happened.

The last two pictures are from me dropping Lexi off at school this morning. It is nice to know that she likes school.

The group hug was snapped right before the entire group bit the dust. Lexi started crying when she fell. She didn’t really hurt herself she just didn’t like the fact that she fell.

This second picture is with an unknown little girl and her teacher. Now the unknown little girl here is one of the two above. The third child is the teacher pictured here’s daughter. Ms. Jennifer, her teacher, says that the two of them are good friends and get each other in trouble.
