Here we are day 2 of Spring Break 2013. We started the day early with cooler temps and the call of wild turkey in the air. As I packed up camp one of these turkeys decided to walk right through our campsite.
With the car packed we proceeded west towards the San Diego area. I wanted to catch a shot of Lexi with the Mexico border in the background. The idea of this trip was to travel from tip to tail the state of California. What better way to show the tip than to start at the border.
We then turned north along Interstate 5 until Dana Point when we turned onto CA-1, even though the map below shows otherwise. Another goal of this trip was to travel the entirety of CA-1 from South to North and avoid the busier interstates and highways were possible. Along the way to our next camp spot, Point Mugu State Park, we stopped to tour the Queen Mary in Long Beach.
