That’s the Way Things Happen…

…on the Polar Express.

During Christmas season in 2007 Lexi was getting big into Polar Express. She absolutely loved that movie. That year we found a bookmark at Hallmark that looked exactly like the golden ticket in the movie. We gave it to her on Christmas of 2007 and told her it was Santa’s way of saying she would go on the Polar Express the next year.

Next year came and the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. Dawn and I planned a few days off to go to Farmington to see my grandparents. We timed it so on our drive back to Vegas we would; stop in Williams, AZ and take Lexi on the Grand Canyon Railway’s Polar Express trip, stay the night, and drive home the next day. We arrived in Williams and checked in to the hotel and got settled in. After eating dinner we changed Lexi into her PJ’s for her journey on the Polar Express.

Here’s Lexi presenting her special Golden Ticket in order to board. I have to say the all the staff running the show were excellent! The made sure to pay special attention to make sure things went smoothly. They were all tremendously friendly and never did we feel we were inconveniencing someone with odd picture requests.

Once we got to the “North Pole”, Santa walked the length of the train giving each of the kids their very own bell. This is one of my favorite shots of Lexi with her bell.
