Thomas the Tank Engine

I have decided I am going to do things a little different with this post. Since I have more pictures to share then I normally do with a post I am going to do all my writing then add the pictures.

There was no posting from 10/30 – 11/3 because Lexi was staying with Grandma and Grandpa. It was a much needed break on my part. I love that little girl but there are times when even I need a break. One interesting point was on my way to pick her up I thought to myself, ‘I’ve been so busy this week I really didn’t miss her all that much.’ It is funny that in hind sight I will say that is true. Once I got to Grandma’s house however that all changed. I was so excited to see her and she was excited to see me. Also every time she spends a week with her grandparents she always looks so different to me. Now I know how they feel when they see her every other week.

So after going down on 11/3 we had discussed me coming back down the following weekend since it was a three day weekend, Veterans day. While we were discussing this idea we talked about what we were going to do. Well once back in Vegas I took to the task of finding something to do. I stumbled across a web-page affiliated with the LA Time that provides various community events. Once of these events I couldn’t pass up it was named, ‘A Day Out With Thomas’. With Lexi’s new found interest in trains and specifically Thomas this was an opportunity I just couldn’t let go. I contacted the grandparents and we all agreed that it would be a great time.

We decide that we are going to go on our adventure on Friday. Our thinking was that it would be less crowded as some people would still be working on the holiday. We arrived at the Orange Empire Railway Museum at around 12:30 and didn’t leave until around 5:00. Overall we had a great time and I must say that the museum did a great job at providing entertainment for all the kids. They had entire Thomas table-top toy sets setup for kids to play with, a maze made out of bails of hay, and the entire museum was open to the public as well.

This was a small kid size trolley car they had setup in one of the courtyards. Lexi got in there and was being really good. Here she is ringing the bell they had placed on the front of the car.

This was taken on the coach car they that was being pulled by Thomas. She had such a great time. They had Thomas pulling 4-5 coach cars that day.

Here Lexi is sitting on a 1937 streetcar. We were waiting for a ride around the museum grounds when this picture was taken. Here Thomas had just returned from one of this trips and was pulling forward to unload his current passengers and load up for another trip. This kinda gives you an idea of what they had setup that day. I must say that I was impressed with the workmanship displayed in the Thomas mock up.

Lastly there is a picture of my little darling having fun in the grass they had in front of the museum. We had been playing back and forth just before this was taken. She started to fall down and then she would want me to help her up. I snapped this as she was actually saying please for me to help her.

We had a great time and a great weekend.
