We woke early to take a small hike down to the Smith River before we broke camp and started packing. Once again Lexi had to say goodby to her fast friends before we left to finally make the Oregon border. This was our final exclamation point on the trip, signifying the end of Spring Break and time for us to turn around, head south, and eventually home. Lexi had been pestering me throughout most of the trip to go play along the beach. As we passed through Crescent City I finally decided it was time for her to get her feet wet. We pulled over and I let her have a half hour or so to go out and enjoy the surf. She had an absolute blast.
